Built on the edge of Tanzania’s wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater, at almost 3000m above sea level, the Highlands is the newest addition to the Asilia Africa portfolio of camps and lodges in Kenya and Tanzania. Guests will certainly enjoy their tented domes thanks to wood-burning fireplaces, en suite bathroom and luxurious furnishings—and the immersive views over the ancestral Serengeti landscape.Guests will certainly enjoy their tented domes thanks to wood-burning fireplaces, en suite bathroom and luxurious furnishings—and the immersive views over the ancestral Serengeti landscape. source : Travel+Style.com

The very sweet Azucar Hotel

Azucar Hotel in Monte Gordo, Veracruz is an assemblage of 20 whitewashed bungalows with small, private terraces overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Inspired by the local sugarcane industry, each bungalow is named after one of the mills in the area. This is a slow-life experience a visitor can find in Azucar, with an access to hotel’s open-air ‘biblioteca’ or outdoor spa. Designed by Carlos Couturier and Moisés Micha of Grupo Habita, they kept the surrounding landscape in mind when working on the site. source : trendland.com

The lodge and its 28 new tents were made almost entirely with locally sourced materials, from the flagstone floors to the cypress wood walls.

It was recently re-designed by London-based architecture firm Michaelis Boyd Associates and South Africa’s Nicholas Plewman Architects and Fox Browne Creative. via Lonny Magazine
